  • The garden is this huge strip that we have no idea what we are doing with... But it's fun! We are growing tomatoes, basil, peppers, onion, collard greens, lettuce, carrots, beets, cucumber, eggplant, squash, watermelon....am I forgetting something? Wish us luck. Oh and we planted late.

    The first tomato...

There's a dinosaur behind those onions...

    lettuce.

I used to think I wanted to make a children's book. Harder than I thought? I painted three "pages" and part of a fourth, but never returned. This was back in1995, I believe. Her name is Minerva, and I always thought she resembled too much of Peppermint Patty.

    A work in progress....
(that's not a real tattoo folks, just in case there was any doubt.)

    Hi Miriam!
I was so surprised when I saw how your son has grown up...
It's amazing how time fly... in no time babies become boys!
    He is wonderful!

In a previous post you ask what do we think about your new layout.
I think the use of a painting of yours and the canvas texture is beautiful.
I also tried this 3 columns scheme.
    http://art-rage-challenge-2.xanga.com/
As mine is also a free xanga, I noticed that the adds are always at the right column and come in second place. Since I didn't liked to constantly see the adds, I push it down by doing a really long first module with photos.
I discover that using the scheme of 1 sole column is add free.
And we can use the header and footer in a creative way =)
So I'm using it now on WhataWonderfulNewWorld.

@WhataWonderfulNewWorld - That's a great idea about the long photo strip!  Are you sure about the ad not being there in the one column set up?  Because I'd swear I had seen it there before....I hate the damned ad but just can't justify spending money on paying for premium these days.  Thanks for the lovely comment!

    @juneblue - Miriam, I'm sure!
But if you visit this (WhataWonderfulNewWorld) from where I'm talking to you, you may see it by yourself!
And we can use the header (and the footer) to put any kind of modules, links etc.
Even if I wanted to pay for it, I couldn't. I don't have credit card and am at the other side of the Atlantic ocean =)
Thanks... It's great talking with old xanga friends!

    I like his hairs cut!

You are going to have so much food! Your garden looks great and that little tag is a beauty.

I love the texture and painting on this page layout. Nice!

Sorry for jumping around, I am a bit ADD right now.

Yeah, she does have a kinder gentler Peppermint Patty look to her. I know a children's book would be a challenge. I tried to write one once and kept running afoul of things. They are more complicated than they seem. I love them.
